Learn, Play, Experience, and Connect

February 28, 2025

February has ended with unforgettable moments for SISS teachers and students through exciting events and enriching competitions both inside and outside the school. Let’s keep the energy alive and welcome a vibrant March, Jaguars!

Closing Creative Chapters with Book Week

From February 24 to 28, 2025, Book Week, themed “Across the Story Bridge”, brought Jaguars an exciting and insightful literary journey. Various activities including Bookworm, D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything and Read), Tomorrow’s Storytellers, Better Than Fiction, Author Focus, Gift a Book – Share the Love, and Dress-up Day, provided opportunities for Jaguars to share their favorite books, craft unique stories, design book pages, and decorate bookmarks.

A special highlight of Book Week was the Field Trip to the General Science Library of Ho Chi Minh City, where students explored one of the city’s most historic libraries, home to thousands of diverse and invaluable books. Through these activities, Jaguars not only deepened their love for reading but also contributed to fostering a strong reading culture within the SISS community, cherishing the immense value that knowledge brings.

Sharing Big Ideas with TEDx SISS Youth 2025

The much-anticipated TEDx SISS Youth 2025 officially kicked off with an inspiring event on February 25 & 27, 2025. Open to Jaguars from Year 1 to Year 8, this annual academic platform empowers students to explore the significance of kindness, technology, and learning environments in personal growth while honing creativity, adaptability, and resilience.

This year’s competition will revolve around 4 compelling themes:

  • The Importance of Kindness and Empathy in Cultivating a Thriving Learning Environment
  • Embracing Technology to Foster Wellness and Innovation in Education
  • Creating Healthy and Innovative School Spaces for Students
  • Overcoming Challenges and Building Resilience

Participants will express their perspectives, propose solutions, and showcase their public speaking skills through presentations before the Organizing Committee. The competition consists of 2 main rounds: the School Round and the Grand Finale. The most outstanding presentations from the School Round will advance to the Grand Finale in April, where students will deliver their talks in front of an audience of family, friends, and special guests.

Celebrating the Passionate Journey of the Talented Engineer Team

On February 22 – 23, 2025, the Talented Engineer Team, composed of 3 students in Year 8, competed in the VEX Robotics National Championship 2025 in Hanoi. This prestigious competition brought together top-tier teams from across the country, making it an intense and thrilling showdown.

With unwavering determination and the support of the SISS community, our Jaguars delivered impressive performances throughout the tournament. After intense rounds of competition, the team proudly brought home the Energy Award, which is given to teams that demonstrate exceptional enthusiasm and competitive spirit, and ranked top 9.

The six-month-long journey to the VEX Robotics 2025 Championship marks one of the most memorable chapters for our talented students, providing invaluable lessons on technology, courage, friendship, and problem-solving.

The entire SISS community extends heartfelt congratulations to these brilliant young engineers for their resilience and commitment. Thank you for embracing the challenge, expanding your knowledge, and showcasing your talents on the competition stage. Keep your passion alive, and continue honing your skills. We look forward to seeing you at even greater competitions ahead!
