An engaging and connected November for the SISS family
Through the activities and events that took place this November, our Jaguars had more opportunities to strengthen their bonds, explore the world around them, gain essential self-protection skills, and nurture happiness in learning.
Reaching out to the community through Book Week
Stephen King, a well-known American Writer, once said, “Books are a uniquely portable magic.” And indeed, during Book Week 2025, our Jaguars not only continued to strengthen their reading habits but also helped spread the love of reading and share kindness with the community.

By immersing themselves in storytelling competitions, students expanded their limitless creativity, explored diverse perspectives within literary works, developed critical thinking, and enhanced empathy as well as emotional intelligence. Their Field Trip to Ho Chi Minh City’s Book Street offered valuable experiences as they explored a vibrant world of books and interacted with the Writer Hoang Nguyen Thuy – moments that inspired them to love reading even more and “sow the seeds” for future dreams of becoming budding young writers.

In addition, the “Book Donation – Sharing Love” activity received overwhelming support from the Sydney School community, collecting more than 700 books, nearly 100 notebooks and school supplies, and 35 boxes of milk (including powdered milk). These heartfelt gifts represent the love and generosity of our community. Through donating to children at Anh Sang Shelter and Ky Quang 2 Pagoda, students gained a deeper understanding of compassion and learned to appreciate the meaningful values in life.
Strengthening self-protection awareness through the Well-being Workshop
With the theme “Safe Self-Protection Skills in the Online Environment”, Secondary Jaguars engaged in lively discussions with Dr. Mai My Hanh, Deputy Head of the Psychology Department at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, about the risks young people may encounter while using social media.
We cannot completely prevent children from accessing technology in today’s fast-paced world. Instead, we can guide and accompany them so they learn to use technology responsibly, protect themselves from harmful influences, and maintain their mental well-being.
During the Workshop, students shared concerns regarding using social media, such as information leaks, cyberbullying, exposure to harmful content, and reduced face-to-face interaction. Together with Dr. Mai My Hanh, they explored practical strategies to use social media safely and proactively rather than being influenced by it. Jaguars, let’s continue practicing positive habits in your digital spaces.
Strengthening family bonds through “Hearts United Day”
November at Sydney School concluded with “Hearts United Day”, an event warmly joined by many parents and Primary students. Through exciting teamwork-based physical games, Jaguars enjoyed meaningful bonding moments and created wonderful memories with their families.
More than just a regular school event, “Hearts United Day” is a special opportunity for Primary families to strengthen their bonds, deepen their connection with the School, and help students develop essential life skills. Through charity booths at the event, the Sydney School community also extended support to students from the “Tay Bac: One Brick – A Million Dreams” project.
Only one month remains before we say goodbye to 2025. Jaguars, let’s keep your positive energy alive as we welcome the exciting activities ahead in December!
