Jaguars “weave” peace through small acts

Nurtured in a happy environment, Jaguars always learn to spread positivity to the community. This spirit is clearly reflected in the Peace Week at SISS.

With the theme “Leap for Peace: Small Acts – Big Impact”, Sydney School came together to celebrate International Day of Peace (Peace Day) through small yet meaningful acts, inspired by the rhythm of love to help spread positive values throughout the community.

When each Jaguar chooses to act with kindness and love, these good deeds are multiplied and spread from one person to another, contributing to an environment where everyone is willing to listen, understand, respect, and live in harmony with one another. Over time, these positive values become part of the community’s culture and gradually “weave” peace.

So, what did Jaguars do to join hands in building peace through small acts with a far-reaching impact?

Sharing powerful messages for a world without violence

During Peace Week, teachers and students at Sydney School created videos sharing meaningful messages about a world that is fair, equal, and free from violence. These small messages became a collective voice, carrying the power to connect hearts that share a commitment to peace and inspire everyone to contribute to creating positive changes.

Creating colorful handmade crafts that express a love for peace

The message “We love peace” does not necessarily have to be spoken in words. With the Jaguars community, each student had their own way of expressing this love through handmade crafts they created themselves, such as pinwheels, posters, and wings of peace. From choosing colors, images, and design layouts to personally writing meaningful messages, Jaguars expressed their feelings, thoughts, and desire to join hands in preserving peace through each unique handmade craft.

“Covering” the shared home in blue and creating a meaningful symbol of peace together

On September 21, 2026, the Jaguars community “covered” their happy school in blue by wearing shirts in the colors of peace as a reminder that every individual should appreciate the value of a life that is free, safe, and without war. In particular, the students also formed a giant peace symbol, where each person was a small blue dot; yet, when standing side by side, these blue dots created a powerful impact in spreading a meaningful message of peace.

Through these small acts, Jaguars came together to create a beautiful journey during Peace Week. This journey will continue every day because the SISS community believes that every act of kindness can become a “candle” that lights up good things and creates great changes. From there, we will continue to work together to build a peaceful and increasingly better world.
