Our Jaguars had a September filled with exciting activities, where every step opened up a memorable story of school life.

Welcoming a new journey at the Opening Ceremony for the academic year 2026 – 2027

Joining the joyful atmosphere of the opening day across the country, Sydney School welcomed the Opening Ceremony for the academic year 2026 – 2027 with excitement and hope for a promising journey.

The exciting moments of welcoming the new academic year during the National Online Opening Ceremony, the students’ emotional performance, along with the decisive and powerful sound of each beat of the opening drum – all contributed to creating a truly memorable beginning, bringing confidence and positive energy to every Jaguar in the academic year 2026 – 2027. With the theme “The Leap Forward: Born to Leap – Build to Lead”, every member of the SISS community will continue moving forward with a spirit of breakthrough, the aspiration to reach further, and a heart filled with love.

Creating a warm and loving Mid-Autumn Festival

From the first days of the eighth lunar month, the lively, togetherness, and love-filled atmosphere of the full moon season spread throughout every corner of SISS as teachers and students together “gave a new look” to their shared home with creative decoration ideas. From lanterns in all shapes and sizes, colorful bamboo trays adorned with drawings, to glass windows filled with familiar images of the Mid-Autumn Festival, every detail contributed to create a warm space with a distinctive SISS touch.

The atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival was not only present in every corner of SISS but also continued at the Mid-Autumn Festival “Moonlight, Love & Togetherness”. Here, Jaguars dressed in traditional outfits and immersed themselves in special activities such as participating in lively folk games, interacting with Mr. Cuoi and Ms. Hang, enjoying the Mid-Autumn “concert”, and joining the lantern procession in a sparkling and warm atmosphere.

The Mid-Autumn Festival at SISS became even more complete as joy was multiplied through meaningful actions stemming from compassionate hearts. From empathy for difficult circumstances and the desire to bring a more fulfilling Mid-Autumn Festival to the children at Minh Tam Shelter, Jaguars donated milk and mooncakes and directly visited, talked with, and hand-delivered loving gifts to the children.

Discovering the beauty of Vietnamese culture at the Ao Dai Museum

In the final week of the month, Jaguars temporarily left their familiar classrooms to embark on a journey of visiting, learning about, and admiring Ao Dai – one of the symbols of national cultural identity – during the Field Trip to the Ao Dai Museum.

Throughout their journey of exploring more than 300 traditional Ao Dai on display at the museum, Jaguars were amazed and excited by fascinating stories about the history and development of the Ao Dai through different periods, as well as the significance of this attire in the cultural and spiritual life of the Vietnamese people.

Through this emotional trip, the students had the opportunity to gain a clearer sense of the beauty of the Vietnamese Ao Dai and develop a greater appreciation for traditional cultural values preserved through generations.

A memorable September has come to an end, with each activity bringing Jaguars their own emotions, stories, and experiences to write beautiful “diary pages” of their school years. Let’s look forward together to seeing what exciting events October will bring!
