House System: A United and Happy Community
Beyond offering a well-rounded playground of academics, sports, arts, and social activities, the House System also stands as a symbol of Jaguars’ unity, leadership, and connection.
The House System is implemented to encourage students to actively engage in learning and self-development, foster teamwork, promote a sense of community responsibility, and enhance leadership skills. It also provides opportunities for students to build meaningful connections across the School. Through these efforts, the House System supports the School’s mission of nurturing future generations of global citizens who are happy, confident, and responsible.
At SISS, the House System is divided into 4 Houses, each represented by a distinctive Greek symbol:
House of Apollo: Representing the Sun and Light, Apollo embodies truth, artistic beauty, medical knowledge, and intellectual strength. The House of Apollo is characterized by the distinctive color orange, reflecting harmony, order, and reason.
House of Athena: Represented by tranquil and versatile blue, Athena embodies intelligence and creativity. The House of Athena is characterized by the distinctive color blue, reflecting wisdom, intelligence, and determination.
House of Zeus: Representing the sky and thunder, Zeus, the ruler of Mount Olympus in Greek mythology, embodies power, authority, and fairness. The House of Zeus is characterized by the distinctive color red, reflecting leadership, determination, and insight.
House of Asclepius: Representing the “Green House” at SISS, Asclepius, a god of compassion and hidden wisdom, embodies empathy, care, and dedication. The House of Asclepius is characterized by the color green, reflecting kindness, sharing, and service.
Through House activities, Jaguars are given opportunities to connect, share, and embrace healthy competition while learning the value of unity in overcoming challenges together. Each House is not only a stage for talents and strengths but also a home where joy and solidarity bring members closer.
The representatives of each House will be the House Captains and House Vice Captains – outstanding students elected by the entire student body under the approval and direct supervision of the House Coordinator. Recently, the School launched the election campaign for these leadership positions for the academic year.
When taking on the position of House Captain or House Vice Captain, students will have the opportunity to represent the values and spirit of their House while also gaining valuable experiences to further develop themselves, strengthen their leadership skills, foster connections within the school community, and serve as a bridge between the School and students. The School encourages students to step forward with confidence and apply for these important positions, contributing to the spirit of the academic year, “Stride with Heart – Lead with Grace”.
