Welcoming a Joyful New Academic Year

Kicking off the academic year 2025 – 2026 with a series of exciting activities, teachers and students at Sydney School stride together toward new milestones with passionate hearts and a spirit that dares to dream and dares to achieve.

Kicking Off with Orientation Day

Lao Tzu once said, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” The very first steps of our Jaguars in the academic year 2025 – 2026 marked the beginning of a learning journey where they will stride forward with passionate hearts and demonstrate their leadership potential.

That journey was officially launched with Orientation Day, held this past August, with the enthusiastic participation of both teachers and students of SISS. The event was also graced by the presence of Parents of Year 1 and Year 6 students, as their children embark on a new stage of learning full of exciting promises ahead.

More than just an occasion to welcome back our beloved Jaguars, the event also served as a bridge for new students joining the SISS family to get familiar with their school, teachers, and friends. Through a series of bonding activities, students gradually “shed” their initial shyness and quickly blended in as members of their second home.

Actively Engaging in Fire Safety Training

In response to the national call for raising fire safety awareness, Sydney School collaborated with Rescue & Firefighting Team No. 3 to organize a training session at the end of August for all members. Beyond practicing with fire trucks, the training also included instructions on how to evacuate safely during an emergency and how to use firefighting equipment properly.

After being equipped with essential knowledge, the campus conducted an emergency evacuation drill to help students become familiar with real-life response procedures, strengthen their ability to react quickly, and build the habit of following safety regulations in the learning environment. Fully aware of the importance of fire prevention and safety, both teachers and students coordinated seamlessly to evacuate in an orderly manner to the designated assembly point, following the procedures taught beforehand.

Throughout the training, the Sydney School community showed great seriousness, attentively listening to the professional team and strictly adhering to all safety instructions, ensuring they are well-prepared to protect themselves and those around them in case of a fire emergency.

Excitement in Every Moment of House Sports Day

As the kick-off activity for the House System this academic year, House Sports Day: “Pieces of One: Together We Stride” perfectly embodied the spirit that the SISS family is one, and together, we will move forward.

This spirit was clearly demonstrated when Jaguars actively participated in the House Sports Day held on August 29, 2025. In the vibrant atmosphere of the event, students showcased their teamwork and remarkable athletic abilities, continuously earning points for their Houses. These points marked the beginning of the “race” within the House System. By the end of the academic year, the School will tally the scores and crown the winning House.
