Learning Support

The Learning Support Program at SISS is designed for students who encounter academic difficulties or require additional assistance to keep up with the main curriculum.

The School implements the Learning Support Program in two forms:

ASA Tutoring Classes: Teachers guide small groups of students who need assistance, focusing on English skills (Listening and Speaking). These sessions help students strengthen their vocabulary, improve confidence, and become more prepared to engage in mainstream lessons.

1-on-1 Support: Teachers work individually with students to help them complete revision tasks and/or review knowledge they have not yet mastered. This aims to help students make steady, rapid progress and become more proactive in their learning.

The Learning Support Department works closely with parents to ensure that students can develop both inside and outside the classroom.

Reading Program

The SISS Library is equipped with thousands of English and Vietnamese books across a wide range of genres, meeting the diverse reading needs of students at all grade levels. The School encourages students to read through various activities:

  • Teachers organize Library lessons when appropriate. Students are introduced to different types of books and develop reading comprehension skills through activities such as circle reading, guided reading, and book sharing.
  • Students are encouraged and fully supported to borrow books to read at home.
  • Daily Reading Circle sessions for Elementary students are held each day. These sessions help students develop a regular reading habit, improve concentration, expand vocabulary, and foster a love for reading in a natural and relaxing environment.

In addition, the School organizes an annual Book Week with a variety of engaging activities such as visits to the General Science Library, author meet-and-greets, book storytelling competitions, and more, aimed at nurturing students’ reading habits.
